The albums and collaborations closest to Heather's heart.
Heather's debut solo album, a fresh, feisty take on the harp that holds nothing back. It features self-penned tunes and songs like the dark Stalky Nightmare and the rhythmic William the Conqueror, alongside a gentler sound in Under The Stars, built from a field recording on a trip to Europe.
She honours the tradition too, with her arrangement of Neil Gow's Lament for the Death of His Second Wife and a harp take on Donald MacLeod's Field of Gold. With percussion and guitar from Tia Files and guest vocals from producer Corrina Hewat.
"Open your eyes and amaze your ears." — The Living Tradition
A creation by the wonderful Corrina Hewat to mark the 30th anniversary of the Edinburgh International Harp Festival, inspired by a tale of the oak and the ivy in the forest, one supporting the other.
Performed with a gathering of harpers including Wendy Stewart, Mary MacMaster, Bill Taylor, Tristan Le Govic, Heather, and of course Corrina, the composer.
The fresh, Glasgow based band Heather formed in 2013, performing traditional and contemporary Scottish songs and tunes. Stunning vocals meet piano, fiddle and clàrsach in their own arrangements of traditional material and original compositions.
Claire Hastings on voice, Heather on harp, Tina Jordan Rees on piano and Grainne Brady on fiddle.
